Sita Ranchod-Nilsson, Ph.D., Director, Institute for Developing Nations at Emory University, hosted Dr. Emmet Dennis, President of the University of Liberia at her home to re-establish ties with UL. In addition to the UCL President Cynthia Blandford, President Dr. Jabari Simama of Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Georgia Tech’s Michael Best, Clark Atlanta University’s Dr. Carlton Brown, and others were present to welcome the President to Atlanta.

Thanks also to the leadership of Courtenay Dusenbury, MPH, Director and Secretariat at Emory University International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI), due to the Ebola Crisis, Emory’s International Association of National Public Health Institutes MOU with the Minister of Health will be realigned with the current needs of the country.

Emory University, under the leadership of Dr. David Nugent, Director, Master’s in Development Practice Program, and the Masters in Development Practice students have agreed to provide the Cox Ballroom at Emory University for the UCL Fundraising Event to be held September 26, 2015. Emory students are also preparing Post-Ebola Concept Notes to include Orphans, Sustainable Agriculture, and Entrepreneurship Center, and Water & Sanitation and will present their papers before the end of May on the campus of Emory University.

Emory University also invited Fatu Kakula, Liberian shero who helped to save the lives of her family members who had contracted Ebola, to study nursing at Emory University for one-year.
